The Trump administration unveiled new bans targeting imports of Chinese robots and power inverters.
The Federal Communications Commission released measures barring imports of new Chinese humanoid and quadruped robots, as well as connected power inverters. The inverters allow renewable-energy sources and batteries to connect to electrical grids and data-centre equipment.
The measures took effect when they were published but apply only to robot and inverter models that have not yet been released. Models already on the market are not covered by the new restrictions.
